here Steven enters the kitchen and sets down a stack of four dirty plates. He looks up at the clock to see that it was 8:15PM. His shift was over in fifteen minutes. It was Monday, and the kitchen was starting to empty out since everyone would go home early when it was slow. Since it was Monday, the dining room was extremely slow. He had, as he knew he would, gotten home safely on Saturday night, then immediately went to bed. He woke up yesterday feeling a little better, with most of his headache gone, and basically played football the whole day. He sits up on the counter and watches as Jamie walks in.
"Everyone's gone now." Jamie exclaims and looks over at John. "You staying?"
John nods his head. "I'm the only cook."
Steven looks at them both confused. "Iker's pissed that he's leaving. He probably would only stay to make sure nothing happens, but Rafa is sending him home." Jamie explains and Steven continues to have a confused look on his face. What did they mean "stay"? Their shifts were over, so why would they want to stay? And what would Iker want to watch?
"Um… why are you staying?" Steven asks and Jamie glances at him.
"That dick that Xabi is going on a date with rented out the dining room. He needs a couple people to stay." Jamie explains. "So I'll see you tomorrow?" He says assuming that Steven would leave, but Steven feels a smirk curl on his lips instead.
"I'm waiting." He says and hops off the table.
"I got it covered Stevie." Jamie says and Steven shakes his head.
"I don't care. I'm helping." He says.
"We're not getting paid extra." Jamie explains and Steven shrugs.
"I don't care. I wanna see this." He says with a smirk on his lips. He remembered Xabi talking about going on a date with this idiot, and now he wanted to see it. Why? He had no idea. But he wanted to see it so badly. This night might actually end up hilarious.
"Whatever you say." Jamie says and grabs two clean plates, silver wear, and two glasses. "Just behave yourself." He says while looking at Steven, who looked like a little kid about to open presents on Christmas. This would be fun.
________________________________________
Xabi looks into his locker and pulled out some clothes what he quickly change into. It was Monday night and Ricardo had come up to him earlier to tell him that they would be meeting at 8:30. Even though the diner hour was over, Ricardo had rented out the entire dining room, and a few employees had offered to stay and serve or cook. He turns around and looked in the mirror. His dark brown hair was completely flat and he was wearing a checked shirt and dark jeans. He looks over at the two guys sitting on the locker benches and raises his eyebrows. "So, this will do?"
Frank shakes his head. "I think you look a lot better going out on a date with someone you like not because you felt sorry for the stuck up bastard." He states and Xabi rolls his eyes. Frank made it well aware that he wasn't a Ricardo fan. And maybe half the reason was because it was someone other than Iker.
Fernando gives him a small smile. "You look great." He says and stands up. He places his hands on his best friends shoulder. "And just remember, it's one date." Xabi gives him a small smile and nods. He knew it was only one date, but he didn't want to go. Why did he have to be so nice?
"And if it gets too awful." Frank adds. "Just imagine you're talking to Iker."
Xabi rolls his eyes. "That will make it even worse." He says as the Frank pouts and shakes his head.
"You know you two are perfect for each other." Frank explains. "You're both popular guys at Stamford Bridge High. He's a football captain, extremely hot, and you know you want him." He says and Xabi suddenly looks at him. When he listed all of those things, he thought of another football captain first. But he quickly shakes his head at that thought. It was just because they had known each other so many years that Xabi thought of Steven first. It was only natural.
Steven hadn't spoken to him once since he left on Saturday night. He hadn't expected him to, and it had only been one day since then. Xabi was angry. All he had tried to do was help and Steven shoved it back in his face. Why did he have to be such an arsehole? "Whatever Frank." He responds and looks back into the mirror to examine himself one more time. Once satisfied, he turns back to them and sighs. "What time is it?"
Frank flips open his phone and looks at the clock. "8:27 you might want to get going." He says and Xabi nods.
"Try to have fun… alright?" Fernando whispers as he pulls Xabi into a quick hug. Frank hugs him after and then he takes a deep breath, and walks out the door. He looks to see that John and a girl dishwasher were the only ones in the kitchen.
"Have fun Xabi!" He mocks him and Xabi glares at him.
"Just make me something good." He jokes and then walks out the door to the dining room.
Standing in the middle of the room facing the kitchen door was Ricardo in what looked like an expensive button up white shirt and black trousers. Xabi gives a small smile to him and walks over to where he was standing. "You look like a million pounds." Ricardo says as Xabi stops in front of him and gives him another half smile.
"Thanks. You look good too." He says and then he leads Xabi to a table in the middle of the room with a huge white vase of pink roses and two huge candles. Xabi sits down opposite to him and finds that the flowers are so huge that he couldn't see Ricardo’s face.
"They're pretty aren't they?" He refers to the flowers and Xabi laughs nervously.
"Um… I can't see you." He says and he could hear Ricardo sigh on the other side of roses. Xabi really didn't like pink roses. He wasn’t much of a flower person altogether. A sound of snapping is heard and he suddenly sees Jamie standing over them smiling.
"Put this somewhere else." Ricardo demands and Jamie rolls his eyes. Xabi laughs as he moves the huge vase and sets them over on the table next to theirs.
"Hi… I'm Jamie Carragher and I'll be co-serving you tonight."
Xabi shoots a look up at him. What did he mean… co? "Um… you're not the only waiter tonight?"
Jamie looks down at Xabi as if trying to apologize and Xabi groans. That meant Steven was helping too. Which meant he would make his life a living hell. "Something wrong?" Ricardo asks him and Xabi quickly shakes his head.
"Nope… everything's great." He lies and Jamie places two menus in front of them. He leaves and Xabi opens it, even though he wasn't extremely hungry.
"Get anything you want. I have the money." Ricardo says and laughs as if it's a joke, but Xabi doesn't crack a smile. He looks over the menu and quickly decides to get potato soup, since he wasn't hungry… at all. He folds his menu and sets it down while Ricardo looks up at him.
"So… tell me about yourself." Xabi says trying to be polite.
Ricardo sighs and leans back in his chair. "My parents own a yacht company. It's pretty well known. We've even had a couple celebrities ask them to build one." He says cockily. "I go to a private school, and I love to golf in my spare time." Then suddenly a figure shows up beside the table. Xabi looks up to see Steven's piercing blue eyes were staring down at him. "You're not that Jamie guy."
Steven rolls his eyes. "Really? No shit." He says sarcastically and Xabi chuckled a little. "My name's Steven." He says in a bored tone, probably because he has to say it all the time. "And I'm helping Jamie. So what do you want?"
Ricardo looks Steven up and down once and then sighs. "I'll have the lobster. Sprinkled with a light butter sauce, with toasted bread on the side." He says and Xabi opens his menu quickly and looks down. Of course, it was the most expensive thing on the menu.
"Ok…" Steven says while writing it down and then his eyes look up again. "What do you want Xabs?"
Xabi looks down at the menu reflexively. "Um… I'll just have your potato soup." He says and Steven begins to write that down as well.
Laughter fills the air and Steven rolls his eyes again and looks over at Ricardo.
"You have to want something more than that." He says and Xabi shakes his head.
"No… thank you Ricardo… I'm not that hungry." He says and he shakes his head again.
"If money's the issue…" He starts but never finishes.
"He knows money's not the issue, ok?" Steven says and Xabi suddenly feels a smile come onto his face. Maybe having Steven as a waiter wouldn't be as bad as he thought. Steven looks at him for a moment and Xabi gives a soft nod, as if to say thanks. He nods back and then looks back at Ricardo. "I'll be back with your shit."
Ricardo looks back at Xabi and takes a sip of his water that was sitting on the table. "He was rude." He says and Xabi keeps from rolling his eyes at how hypocritical this guy was.
"He's just Steven." Xabi says and then suddenly his eyes grow wide. Did he just defend him?
Ricardo nods and then leans over. "So Xabs… tell me about you."
Xabi’s eyes grow wide again. Where did he hear that name from? Why would he call him that? "Um… it's Xabi." He says and then the realization dawns on him. Steven called him "Xabs" when he asked for his order.
"Sorry." Ricardo mumbles.
Xabi continues. "I go to Stamford Bridge High, but I'm districted to Melwood High. I love to play Hockey and run track and I love hanging out with my friends." He says and suddenly hears the swinging kitchen door open and looks to see that Steven was walking back in with two trays of food. He stops by them and sets down a plate in front of Ricardo and a bowl in front of Xabi.
"Why don't you go to Melwood?" Ricardo asks and Xabi feels his body tense up. Steven looks down at him as Xabi closes his eyes.
"Is the butter spread evenly enough for you?" Steven asks as Ricardo looks up at him sceptically.
"Um… sure? So anyways…" He says and turns back to Xabi. "So why?"
"Do you want something to drink?" Steven asks and Xabi suddenly realizes he was trying to make Ricardo forget about it. He was actually doing something nice for him. Was he dreaming this?
"No, we're fine. You can go now." He says annoyed and then Steven makes eye contact with Xabi. He quickly leaves then and walks toward the kitchen door. Xabi turns his eyes back to Ricardo and sighs. "So… do tell now."
"I um…" He starts and looks down. "I really don't want to talk about it." He responds and then looks down. He picks up a single spoon that was sitting on the table and takes a sip of his soup. His eyes look up and he sees Ricardo ready digging in to his lobster.
After another ten minutes of Ricardo talking about his expensive possessions, Xabi becomes extremely bored. He looks up at Xabi after explaining his house. Xabi looks over his shoulder to find Jamie walking out. This was weird; it had only been ten minutes since Steven had given them their meal. But Jamie has a smile on his face as he walks toward them.
"Sorry to interrupt, but Xabi, Rafa wants to see you. About some activity you're running tomorrow." He says and Xabi raises his eyebrows.
"Um… Jamie, I don't have an activity..." He says and then looks up to see Jamie’s right eye wink. The realization dawns on his that Rafa really didn't need to see him and he suddenly nods. "Si, that's right I do." He lies and then looks down at Ricardo. "Dios, I'm so sorry." He says and he looks at Xabi curiously.
"I'll stay until you're done." Ricardo says and Jamie shakes his head.
"He said it would take a long time." Jamie explains and Ricardo nods.
"Oh um… I was thinking we could head back to mine." He says and Xabi tries his hardest not to roll his eyes.
"Sorry Ricardo." He says and stands up. "It's been a very…interesting evening." He says trying not to hurt his feeling but didn't want to say that he had a bad time. Who would actually ENJOY listening to someone brag about how much money they had? No one he knew would want that.
"Ok… I guess I'll see you later then." Ricardo says and stands up to give Xabi a kiss on the cheek. He smiles politely and Jamie places down a black leather folder with the bill.
"I'll leave you with that." He says as Xabi turns around and walks with him back to the kitchen. He pushes open the door and waits until it shuts. As soon as he's out of the view from Ricardo, he hugs Jamie.
"Thank you, thank you, thank you!" He exclaims. "I just owe you my entire life. You seriously just saved me from the worst date I have ever had. Thank you!" He says one more time and tightens his arms around Jamie's body. He chuckles nervously and then lets him go.
"Don't thank me. It wasn't my idea." He says and Xabi looks up at him. What? What did he mean by, it wasn't his idea?
"If it wasn't your idea, then who's was…" But stops in mid sentence as his eyes grow wide. Jamie nods as if confirming it and Xabi stares at him in shock. He knew exactly who gave Jamie the idea to pull the stunt. He looks around the kitchen for a moment, to find that John and the dishwasher were finishing up extra dishes but other than that, the room was empty. But then he sees a pair of feet sitting up on a table in the corner. He looks back at Jamie for a moment and he nods as if to say "Go on".
Xabi walks slowly over to the white table and notices that Steven was reading a Sports Illustrated magazine. He sighs and stops right in front of him. He doesn't seem to have noticed that Xabi was standing there since his eyes don't move from the page. "Hola…" He says slowly and Steven's piercing blue eyes shoot up from the magazine to look at him.
"So… you finally got out of the date with the prick?" He asks as he sets the magazine down. "About damn time."
Xabi notices that he doesn't mention that he had anything to do with the scheme. "Um… I just want to say… umm well… I want to say…" He pauses and takes a deep breath. Steven cocks his eyebrow at him. "Thanks. You know… for getting me out of the date."
Steven shrugs and then glances down at the magazine once again. "No one deserves to sit through that." He says and then looks up at him. "I would have thought you would have picked better." He says and Xabi looks at him curiously, and then watches as a smile breaks out onto his face.
"I was trying to be nice. And I felt bad saying no." He says and Steven raises his eyebrows again.
"So… if someone asked you to let them fuck you… you'd let them cuz you can't say no?" He says more as a question but then looks up as if to think about it. "I'll have to remember that one." He jokes and Xabi feels his face get hot.
"Steven George Gerrard." He says and then suddenly stops. Were they just getting along? Was he mistaken, or did Steven just flirt with him?
"Ouch. Only my mum calls me that." He says and Xabi rolls his eyes.
"Well it's a good thing your mum and I are like this." He says and crosses his index and middle finger. They both laugh and suddenly, Xabi looks up into his crystal blue eyes. Neither of them said it, but it was certain. The wall that had been built up between them for four years was officially broken. They were finally on their way to taking a step forward and putting the past behind them. While they were still laughing, neither of them had any idea they were about to feel things for each other that they had never felt for anyone else before.

Xabi, once again, finds himself standing at the edge of the pool, skimming out all of the disgusting stuff. He sighs and then sets his skimmer down and just sits down with his feet in the water again. It had to be noon by now and Xabi knew he was in for a long shift. He had to work from 9 AM to 6 PM because Cris took the day off. He watches as the little kids continue to jump into the pool, one after the other. He couldn't even take a lunch break because someone had to watch them. But the pool would be closed early tonight so he didn't have to work close to 12 hours. His feet splash a little in the water, and then he suddenly feels two fingers poke into his sides from behind and he squirms from the ticklish feeling. "I couldn't resist." Someone says in his ear and he turns around to look up and see a football captain staring down at him.
"I would have killed you if I would have fallen in." Xabi informs him and he watches as he shrugs.
"It would have been worth it." He responds and Xabi shakes his head.
"Not when your parents would never talk to Mama again because I've murdered you."
"Yea it would." Steven responds and Xabi rolls his eyes. It was shocking to him how three days could change everything. It was Thursday, and if someone would have looked at them; you would have never known that they had hated each other for four years up until three days ago. They had skipped the whole "acquaintances" thing and just jumped straight back into being friends. Sure, it had been a little awkward for the first hour or so, but after that it just felt natural. Why had he even wasted four years without being friends with him?
"So why are you here?" He asks and Steven smirks.
"To visit you." He says and Xabi gives him a look.
"No really, why are you here?"
Steven sighs. "I thought I'd be a nice to you for once and bring you something to eat since you don't get a lunch break." He says and Xabi smiles.
"That's a first." He says and Steven shrugs.
"You caught me in a good mood." He explains and then smiles at him. "So what do you want?"
"Umm." He says thinking aloud. "I just want a cheeseburger." He responds.
Steven rolls his eyes. "That's boring." He says and Xabi shrugs.
"I'm a boring person." He responds and Steven laughs at him. This felt so normal. Why had they put it off all these years? "Now go… I'm starving over here." He says as Steven rolls his eyes again and begins to walk back to the kitchen. The rest of the gang was in utter shock when they found out him and Steven were talking again. It was a huge change, and Xabi could tell everyone else was in a better mood that they weren't fighting nonstop. That was, everyone except Iker. He could remember the first time everyone first saw them together. It was Tuesday morning…
Xabi shuts the car door and hears it lock. He sighs as he starts to make his way up the hill, preparing for another day of work. It wasn't that he didn't like his job; it was just that he wished he could do something more exciting. Only once had he had to jump in a try to get a kid who hadn't come up for awhile, but that was it. He suddenly hears another car door slam behind him and then a single voice. "XABS, wait up!" Xabi turns around to see Steven walking toward him. They had sat there joking for about an hour last night and he wasn't sure how he was going to act this morning. He jogs over to him and smiles. "Hey."
"Hola." Xabi responds and they begin walking up the hill together. This was a little awkward, but it was nothing he couldn't handle.
"So I'm glad you haven't killed yourself since that date must have been torture." Steven says as they make it to the top of the hill and Xabi chuckled.
"Si… I figured I wouldn't wake up the neighbours with my shouts."
Steven raises his eyebrow. "Like me?" Xabi shrugs.
"I don't think you'd hear me five houses down." He says as they walk inside the country club and both head toward the kitchen through the dining room. Steven shrugs as he pushes the door open to reveal the sounds of pots and pans banging together.
"By the way you shout, I think people across town could hear you." They laugh and suddenly, the whole kitchen grows silent. Xabi finds something different and turns his eyes away from Steven to find the whole kitchen staring at them with wide eyes. Both him and Steven look at each other and then back at the staring crowd. They both start to make their way forward at the same time. Everyone begins to start working again, but they all sneak glances at the two.
They walk to Jamie, who looked normal since he saw them talking last night, and stop. He was talking with Iker, Fernando and Alex. "What's going on?" Xabi says while Fernando and Alex still staring at them with disbelief and Iker had a pissed look on his face. What was that about?
"Um… nothing I guess…" Alex finally gets out. He was sure it was more the fact that they walked in together laughing that surprised them.
"You guys look like you've just seen a ghost." Steven says and Fernando finally snaps out of his trance. He, unlike Jamie, Alex, and Iker, had never seen Steven and Xabi get along. The other three had known them since they were friends before.
"No… um… everything's fine." He says and then turns to Alex. "We should get going." He says and gives Jamie a kiss on the cheek. "We'll see you guys later." They leave and Xabi looks up at the others. Iker finally takes the frown off of his face and then walks over to Xabi to give him a hug, that was a little longer than normal.
"Morning Xabi." He says and Xabi finally let’s go of him. Why was he acting so strange? "How'd your date go?"
Xabi rolls his eyes. "Awful. But it ended early so that was a plus." He says and his eyes look up to connect with Steven's. He gives him a small smile and then Xabi looks back up at Iker, who now had his arm around him.
"So… you're gonna come play and help us kill Melwood High in the staff baseball game on Friday right?" Iker says while giving a smirk to Jamie. Jamie rolls his eyes and Steven glares at Iker, which the other football captain returns. Xabi feels Iker’s arm pull his closer to his body, which he found extremely uncomfortable.
"Yea right." Jamie says and pats Steven on the back. "We're gonna make Xabi wish he hadn't transferred." He jokes and Xabi smiles.
"That will never happen." Iker says and Xabi sighs.
"No I think I’m just going to watch with Frank, Nando and Alex, but I really gotta go change." He says and gets out of Iker’s grasp.
"So do I." Steven says and Xabi watches as Iker frowns once again.
"I'll see you later ok?" Xabi says to him and watches him nod. Then he walks off with Steven to the locker rooms to go get dressed.
Xabi suddenly comes back into reality and walks toward his chair that was sitting at the top of the pool. He sits down and surveys the pool. Iker had acted the same way ever since then and he had no idea why, he was also starting to get extremely protective over him. There was no point, since he didn't even like Iker. Plus, he and Steven were just getting back to becoming friends. It wasn't like he liked him or anything like that.
Xabi suddenly becomes surprised when a floating cheeseburger comes into his sight. He smiles and then looks down to find Steven standing there beaming. "Are you sure you want this? I touched it. I don't want you to get AIDS or anything." He jokes and Xabi grabs it from him.
"Give me that!" He exclaims and then takes a bite. “Dios, it's like heaven on earth."
Steven rolls his eyes. "Well I'm glad you're happy with it."
Xabi takes another bite and looks up at him. "Zzo, whennn too for verents reave?" He says with food in his mouth and Steven laughs.
"Didn't you ever learn not to talk with food in your mouth?" He asks and Xabi swallows.
"I said when do your parents leave?" He asks.
Steven shrugs. "Next week Friday. Your mum is coming over to make sure they're sent off ok." He says and then looks up at Xabi and raises one of his eyebrows. "Why… you want to come over to an empty house with only me in it?" He asks and Xabi rolls his eyes.
"You wish Gerrard." He says but feels the blood rush to his cheeks in a blush. It was as if they had just picked up where they left off before it happened. Well… sort of. More like before things got complicated between the two.
"Nah, I don't need to wish." He responds and then waves down at someone below. Xabi looks down to see that Frank, Wayne, Ryan, Rio, and David were all tanning down there. Wayne, Ryan and Rio all wave up back up while Frank and David were talking about something intently. Xabi rolls his eyes. He could do so much better than them. But he guessed that part of Steven would never change. Or so he thought. "Anyways. I got to go get back to work." He says and Xabi feels his stomach drop. He figures it's from the fact that now he was leaving, he was going to be lonely and bored again.
"Oh… Si ok… I'll see you later then?" Xabi says more as if saying, 'you're still going to talk to me later right?' Steven smiles back at him and nods.
"Yea. See ya." He says as he walks away. Even though they were friends again, Xabi was still on edge with him. He was afraid that in just a second, he was going to snap back into his normal self and hate him again. He sighs and stares back out onto the pool. He watches as Wayne stands up. Xabi glances over at the doors to see that Steven had just walked in to see Wayne walk and follow in Steven's footsteps into the building. He doesn't even notice that his hand clenches as he rips his eyes away from the door.
________________________________________
Steven walks into the building and enters the fucking room first. He didn't want to have Rafa catch him walking through the dining room, so he decided to take the long way. He sighs with a smile on his face. The past three days had been amazing. He couldn't remember the last time he was this happy. Sure, it was probably his fault that they were so bad to each other, but he was just happy that he and Xabi had finally taken that first step forward. Before this, he had never really realized how much he had missed him. But he did, a lot. But Steven shrugs it off. He always felt this way when he met a new guy that wasn't a complete dumb arse. Technically, it was like he was meeting him for the first time… again.
But his thoughts were interrupted when he grabs the door handle to make his way into the room with the piano when he suddenly hears a noise behind him. "Stevie!" Steven freezes in his spot. He was really getting sick of this. He had no idea what it was, but he hadn't even kissed anyone since he was with Justin on Saturday. Sure, it wasn't that long, but Steven also had no desire to do anything with anyone else. Why, he had no idea. And Wayne was probably the last person he wanted to see right now. "Hey sexy…" Wayne greets him and Steven finally turns around and places a fake smile on his face.
"Uhh… hey Wayne." He responds as he watches Wayne strides over with a seductive smirk on his face.
"So… rough day so far?" He asks as he moves his body up against Steven’s and pushes him against a wall. Steven closes his eyes. Even though Wayne wasn't the one he wanted to be with right now, he couldn't deny that it felt good. Wayne’s fingers run through his hair and he suddenly rips his eyes open.
"Not really." Steven says and fights with his body. He needs to get back to work. Rafa couldn't catch him doing something bad again. But Wayne pushes his hips up against his and Steven closes his eyes again.
"Well, I was thinking I could cheer you up. But since you're already in a good mood, I'll just take you to the next level." Wayne says and places a soft kiss on his jaw, and then moves his way down to his neck and places another kiss there.
'Come on Gerrard, get back to work!' He thinks to himself but his body was thinking other things. Wayne wraps a leg around his and he could feel himself stiffen underneath his trousers. He closes his eyes again and he feels himself moan as Wayne places a hand over him, as if to tease him. Steven opens his eyes again and looks towards the palm trees on the walls. He could see the design and in a small corner, he could see a picture of an empty lifeguard chair painted in white on the painted beach. He immediately thinks of Xabi.
"Wayne, stop." Steven says and pushes Wayne off of him. Wayne stares at him confused and a little hurt. Steven had no idea where that hidden strength to say no, but he was thankful for it. "I have to get back to work." He says and turns around.
"Stevie…" Wayne whines and places a hand on his shoulder. "Come on… it will be quick." he says and Steven shakes his head.
"No offence Wayne, but keeping my job is a lot more important to me then a quick fuck." He says and opens the door. He couldn't believe that actually came out of his mouth. Did he just say that? Steven shakes his head and looks at Wayne who was now frowning. "If you'll excuse me, I have food to serve." He says and shuts the door behind him. Steven closes his eyes and leans back against the door. Did that really just happen? Was he stupid for letting go something that would have been so easy for him to take?
Steven opens his eyes again and looks at the piano that was sitting in the middle of the room. Of course it was. He needed this job, and he wasn't going to risk it for something stupid. He makes his way across the room and then enters the coffee room, then the kitchen. Jamie, who was holding a plate, looks up at him. "Where the fuck were you?"
Steven shrugs. "Giving Xabi his food." He says and walks over to where his best friend was standing.
"God, I can't believe you guys are actually talking again." He says and shakes his head. "Who would have ever known?"
Steven shrugs. "I don't know, I guess I just kind of want to be friends with him again. It's not a big deal." He says and Jamie shakes his head.
"Lad, it a HUGE deal! It's been four years!" He starts and Steven rolls his eyes.
"It doesn't matter." He says and Jamie shakes his head.
"Yea it does. Because this past week you haven't been this happy since you kissed him the first time…" He slips out but doesn't finish because Steven throws a hand over his mouth to shut him up. Steven looks around desperately to see if anyone else had heard, but no one was looking at them.
"I thought you said you'd never bring that up again." He growls in Jamie ear and Jamie looks at him as Steven releases his hand.
"Sorry… I forgot." He says as he picks up another plate. Steven grabs two himself and sighs. "Really, I just got excited."
"Whatever." He says and starts to walk toward the door to the dining room were some people were eating dinner. "Oh and I have other news for you." He says quickly to get the topic off of what Jamie just blurted out.
Jamie raises an eyebrow and looks at Steven. "Ok…"
Steven smiles. "I deserve a medal for this." He says and then laughs. "Wayne came on to me about five minutes ago. He wanted a quick fuck." He explains and Jamie rolls his eyes.
"Let me guess… he did something kinky." He says and Steven shakes his head.
"Nope. I turned him down." He responds beaming and Jamie’s jaw literally drops. Steven laughs as he watches his best friend stare at him. He could have easily dropped the two plates he was holding, but he quickly composes himself and shakes his head.
"You're right, you deserve a medal." He says with a laugh. "I'm proud of you for not fucking a slut." He says and then walks through the door leading to the dining room. Steven smiles to himself. At least he was proud of himself.
He walks through the door as well, even though his mind was elsewhere. It was back where Jamie had just been talking about, four years ago. He sets down a plate in front of a young child and his mother and then heads back for the kitchen. He couldn't stop thinking about the first time he had ever kissed Xabi Alonso. He also couldn’t help but think it was the start of all of their problems, even though they had no idea at the time.
