Is Everything Better With Zombies?

lucius_t recently posted his thoughts about some upcoming films. Most of them rate as movies I'll skip when they're at the theater, and might even hold off watching until they're free on broadcast cable. I'm recovering from food poisoning, so all I can think of are TV shows and movies:

24 ZOMBIES

SEVEN BRIDES FOR SEVEN ZOMBIES

A ZOMBIE CALLED WANDA

FRIED GREEN ZOMBIES

THE SILENCE OF THE ZOMBIES

ZOMBIE'S ELEVEN

PINKY AND THE ZOMBIE

TV shows are legitimate. The original post bemoaned the pair of Jane Eyre and zombies. While there's some good television on the air and some good films in the theater, there aren't many zombie pairings. :-)

Seven Brides certainly made me laugh. I'm sure it would ranks right up there with Zombie on the Roof or say The Zombie Who Came in from the Cold.

Douglas Winter wrote several stories about zombies, riffing off "literary" novels. I believe Borderlands Press was supposed to print a collection titled American Zombie that brought them together. Not sure about the specifics. The story titles I recall were "Less Than Zombie," "Bright Lights, Big Zombie" and "The Zombies of Madison County." So, while this Jane Eyre revision might seem new, I think it's safe to say it's been done before.

Which just goes to prove everything can be better with zombies. :-)

Heh - stumbled upon this one by accident...
Actually, there is a "Fried Green Zombies,"...

which I wrote...

before the whole Jane Austin thing.

It's not a take off on Fried Green Tomatoes, just with zombies. It's a whole 'nother ball o' wax.

I'm sure zombies, fried or otherwise, are as squishy as tomatoes. And they're probably not classified as fruit either. :-)
