Five pounds a week is . . . quite a lot. At first, it's pretty common to lose fairly large amounts (like five pounds a week), but if you're losing healthily, that should taper off to about a pound a week or maybe two pounds. Males do tend to lose faster than females--a benefit of testosterone. Lose healthy, and good luck!
Once the weather turns and there aren't any icy patches to send me crashing to the ground it will be a bit easier. I'm resigned to the fact that I'm going to need to do some sort of cardio in addition to the body-weight workout I'm following. :-)
Oh yes--a daily walk around the neighborhood is a fine addition to the daily routine. And it's a guy thing to do. :) As a rule, when men want to lose weight, they add exercise. When women want to lose weight, they subtract food. As a rule. Doing a bit of both is really the best way. (Sorry--the health teacher in me keeps butting in . . . )
