If you were the head writer of Hawaii Five-0, what would you change about the show, the characters or what’s happening this season? Or is it perfect in your eyes?

I'd make sure that there was a scene or two where Steve heard from Catherine, maybe a letter or an email. I'd like to hear mention of past characters like Reggie and Toast. I like love interests, (as there will be no slash in prime time) and yes, I want to see Danny and Gabrielle's relationship growing slowly.

Yeah that would be great. They had some good characters last year, I wish they'd bring a couple of them back. I'd love to see Toast again.

Yes I liked her. She was a self-confident woman who looked like she was a good match for Steve.

For me? I'd say...perhaps look into having fewer white people in the show. I mean...there are a few times where it makes sense to have white extras as the killer/killed/witnesses/etc of the week. But most of the time, I'm baffled as to why there aren't more Hawaiian actors.

This. Also, what? There are no blacks or latinos in Hawaii? That can't be right. Sometimes, this show seems very monochromatic in terms of race. There are only white and a few Hawaiian and Asian descent actors. Where's everyone else?

Completely agree and wouldn't it be refreshing? There are so many all white or majority white shows on the air. Considering white people are going to be a minority in about 20 or 30 years, I think it's time that TV caught up with the rest of the world.

Go a little Moonstuck and put some fun in loving dysfunctional.
Maybe introduce an uncle that’s a retired cop and moves to Hawaii for a new start. Possibly give him a background that his only son a firefighter died at the towers on 911. Danny took care of him like a second son after that. He comes to Hawaii to return the favor because he’s worried about Danny falling back in to that dark place Matt talked about after everything with Rachel and finding out the baby wasn’t his. Maybe have him hook up with our favorite flavored ice/Shrimp seller and possible become a business partner.

Or I might run with a cop sister coming out for the same reason stated above. Grace needs to be reminded of her solid blue-collar working class New Jersey roots sometimes. (Hey, I know how the kids in my neighborhood would have handled that guy at the hotel. It would have involved several dozen well aged eggs or possibly a fish rolled under his car seat

Yes I'd like to know more about Danny's background too. He solved all those homicides in NJ, surely we can learn more about them. I'd like to meet his family too and I love the Krav Maga thing. Oh I forgot to add to my post that I REALLY want to see Danny surf this year. I'd love an episode where Steve finds out Danny can surf better than he can.

Oh I'd love to see Danny kicking some ass with Steve looking on approvingly. That would make me soooo happy! What would make me happier would be to see Danny saving Steve's life or rescuing Steve.

I'd like to see some main character support. We've seen Chin with Malia, and a teeny tiny bit of family, but aren't he and Kono supposed to have this huge family? This isn't really shown. We've seen some of Steve's friends, co-workers, and family. We haven't seen any of Danny's, and heard almost nothing about his family and job life back in Jersey. Yeah, he gripes about it all the time, but there are no real stories coming out. We know Matt is an idiot, but other than that? Nada. I guess what I am saying is, I want more backstory for characters other than Steve. Because right now? It's not Hawaii 5-0. It's the Steve and Lori show. I want Hawaii 5-0 back.

Agreed. Backstory helps characters come alive and be more well-rounded. I also agree with your comment about the show becoming Steve/Lori. Episode 7 was better but she's still getting too much screen time at the expense of the other actors.
