1. Steve and Danny are the most mismatched partners since Jack O'Neill met Daniel Jackson. I swear, they are like an old married couple already.
2. The doughnut scene cracked me up.
3. Steve picking on Danny's clothing.
4. The elevator scene.
5. The dialogue in the car - Danny giving Steve a piece of his mind.
6. Kona with her team at the end.
7. Chin and Kona - because that's what family is all about.
8. Meeting Danny's hacker - Steve caught on. Yeah, me thinks he's smoked a bit of weed in his day.
9. Colin Ford (That's for all you Supernatural fans out there.)
10. Good crime drama in general - I have missed that in TVLand for a long time.

Hell yes, cat fight, ftw. lol That's what really stuck out to me. The whole episode was badass. And the sense of family I see with Chin and Kona really makes me happy inside. And that scene with Steve and that little kid in the elevator made me lol.

(Also, I've never seen Hawaii Five-O before the 2010 show came on last Monday, so I'm a newbie. Maybe I should watch the original one, too? Like I did with Star Trek? lol)

I personally grew up watching reruns of the original, but I see them as two very distinct shows. Honestly, while the general plot is similar, they are VERY different, and I find that I'm really loving the fact that characters aside from Steve are getting a lot of screen time. With the original show, unless it happened to be about either Danno being captured/kidnapped/injured or the very rare episode that focused on Chin or Kona...it was all about Steve.

I still enjoy the original...but I'm loving the new show. Not to mention the relationship between Steve and Danny is much more appealing to me as a slasher than the original pair. Hell, even my mother thinks they act like an old married couple.

My dad watched the original show and he refuses to watch the new one, for whatever reason. I told him it was really good, but he just scoffed and said, "It can never match up to the original." That being said, I'm going to watch a few or more episodes of the original just to be able to compare and contrast it. I'll watch out for the screen time of the characters, too, since you mentioned it.

I'm loving the show, too, just in general. And, being a slasher, I couldn't help but find Steve and Danny's relationship appealing. (And I'm just glad that I could find a comm on LJ that's just for those two. lol)

I totally agree about the original! I grew up on reruns of it and I do enjoy it, especially for its 70s-ness, but the characters never really grabbed me. I love that everyone on the reboot feels like a character in their own right. It's much more interesting. And I love their team dynamic. I have a weakness for team shows, coming from SGA fandom.

And, of course, the reboot Steve/Danny are so adorable already! I love shows where I don't even have to try to slash. It's only been two episodes and they are so married. <3
