They do this every year. It's a special premiere event literally on a beach, but it's not airing on TV. It's a promotional event.

We know that.

But the fact that it's done on the same night as the premiere isn't something that they've done in the past. It's always been the week or day before.

It's possible there may have been trouble getting the venue at an earlier date, or even coordinating the cast and crew being there.

It's still going to be a party/promo event, even if it's the same day. I know Doctor Who has been experimenting with showing episodes in theaters as a special event, even after they've aired on BBC America. Any excuse for a party.
