Japan: Day Ten

Sep 07, 2004 19:42

Before I move on to the brief tale of my last day, I should mention something I somehow forgot on the day nine entry. There was one last experience we had which has been shared by many, if not most, Tokyo inhabitants:

It takes something major to delay a Tokyo train. )

travel, ghibli, politics, video games, movies, kit kats, transformers, pictures

Upon arrival in Dalls / Ft. Worth we went through immigration (where we got to see first hand the somewhat disgusting truth that all foreigners entering the US now have to have their fingerprints taken)

I didn't.

I think, as you said, it depends on which country you come from. Australia's part of the visa waiver plans.

Basically, inasmuch as I can tell, close "allies" in the war on terror/troop support/blahblahblah get to avoid all that stuff.

About being on the train when that happened. I can't believe they try to fine the family, I mean, generally people are going to have enough weighing on them with out a million dollar fine over something they obviosly didn't have any control over. It must be a really huge problem, though, for them to even try and write a law like that.

And its also outrageous, all the screening. They have said its going to apply to all countries eventually, allies or not.
