The Difference

There are many profound truths to be found in life, and I think you are on to one of the most important ones. Every individual changes the world by simply existing. We just have to choose if the difference we make (however small) will be positive or negative. Indifference is, in my humble opinion, a negative, so your choice to do something rather than nothing is an advance in the right direction. I think we all have to make our own small steps towards the world we want. If one person tries to tackle everything all at once all alone, the job will become overwhelming and it will seem like there is no point. It's easy to feel insignificant when one compares what others are doing and have done to ones own meager efforts, but think on the grander scale. Believe that you matter and that every little thing counts. The more people we have in the world that understand this, the bigger the impact grows. Change comes from these small steps. I had that conversation with someone. The, "I can't make a difference; I'm only one person" and it was hard for me to illustrate the point, but I think that's because the process wasn't fully formed in my head yet. It makes so much sense the way that you describe it though. This is exactly why I'm trying not to be quite so judgmental about people in any capacity either.
