[Nagi closes his eyes and leans back, exhaling deeply. The rage seeps out of him like steam. He knows this hurts her. He also knows she can take it.
And he had to make sure. He had to make absolutely certain before this partnership, or rivalry, or friendship or whatever the hell it was went any further. No matter how he felt about Olivier, no matter how much he admired her, anyone who was loyal to Bradley and participated in the system that had ripped his life out from under him was someone he would either kill or die trying to. No one was exempt
( ... )
[She scoffs, laying the bait neatly before him, so to speak.] He was one of Bradley's monsters.
[He may take that as he will, because his next words see her hand coming to rest neatly on the hilt of her saber, flexing around the handle in anticipation.] You're unarmed.
[Nagi feels his pride raise a bit. He's the best human opponent she's had, at least. It is disappointing that he was dragged here to Mayfield before he could fight Bradley's forces himself, but here is something worth his time...]
This town has no shortage of warriors from across different worlds. I'm sure at least one of them would be willing to loan me a weapon.
[If nothing else, he was the most memorable. And the irony of Mayfield returning her memories like this isn't lost on her, just when she's regaining momentum and making vast, unshakable plans. Using misfortune to her advantage, though, is something Olivier has been able to do flawlessly time and time again. Nagi will be nothing but an asset, she resolves, whether as a stepping stone or an ally.
For now, though, she's raring for a fight. Tension is beginning to coil and release in her muscles, readying her for physical combat. It feel like it's been so long since she's had a real opponent.]
Do I need to make a phone call for you, or are you capable of doing that much alone?
An officer should be able to procure his own weapons, don't you think? Besides, if you do it I'm sure the sword will come with the arm still attached. [A small smile.]
[With a small sigh, she allows her fingers to relax, stepping forward to extend a hand.] One hour. Even one second more, and I'll consider you a true coward.

As for whether I can match him... what do you say we find out? [His eyes lock on hers.]
