Rorschach & Existentialism

I've been musing on Rorschach and the other Watchmen some more. I looked up quotes from the graphic novel in an attempt to get Rorschach's speech patterns down better (because I'm rp-ing him at hogwarts_hocus), and ended up rethinking some things about the character. I somehow just hadn't realized how much of an existentialist he is at his core. And now I like ( Read more... )

Just thought I'd register that this is an interesting point that I hadn't even considered--I'm not very invested in Rorschach, but now he interests me more. Thank you.

Cool. I always like to bring up something mildly interesting about something to someone about something they hadn't been interested in.

Hmm, that seems like an unnecessarily convoluted sentence. I'm not all here right now.

But yeah, I'm glad you said so. I don't know how I missed it about him before, really.

Did you see the movie? Or read the GN? I still haven't read it.

I still need to get my hands on a copy. I might not get to it until May, but I think I'll definitely read it then.

The film was pretty well done though, I think. Obviously I can't offer a comparison with the graphic novel, but from the panels I've seen and comments from people I know who have read it, it was quite faithful.
