Stories of my year (7 published, 1 abandoned...and why)

Nov 20, 2014 10:10

Since it's mid-November, now, writers all around the internet are putting together lists of their award-eligible stories published in 2014. In a similar vein, I thought it would be nice to do a sum-up here of all the stories of mine that were published this year, for my own sake (because it's a lovely reminder to me that yes, I really did get stuff ( Read more... )

*hugs* It can be hard to set a project aside like that. But I'm so glad you're back in that right place again. I love your stories because they are so well and truly yours and that shines through with every word.

Hugs and hugs and hugs.

Kate Elliott sent me this quote recently and I can't remember if I shared it with you (forgive me if I'm repeating myself?)

Martha Graham to Agnes DeMille -
“There is a vitality, a life force, a quickening that is translated through you into action,
and because there is only one of you in all time, this expression is unique.
And if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium and be lost.
The world will not have it.
It is not your business to determine how good it is, nor how valuable it is, nor how it compares with other expressions.
It is your business to keep it yours clearly and directly, to keep the channel open.
You do not even have to believe in yourself or your work.
You have to keep open and aware directly to the urges that motivate YOU.
Keep the channel open.”

You worked so hard this year. And every year. Much respect and love from me.

Oh, it's hard to let go of anything you put that much time and effort into, but if it's not working right now, it's not working. I'm so glad that your other projects are fun and feel right. *hugs*

It can be a huge disappointment but then a huge sense of release and freedom when you put a project aside. I've felt that too.

And so many stories! There are bunches I've missed out on and am going to catch up on. I do love what you write--so just you keep on writing the stories you love <3

I just realized that the Auntie one I *had* read--an excellent tale. And I'm so glad for the transfiguration for Cassandra in "Lighting Candles," because *dang*, she was selflessly loving and it was shaping up pretty sadly for her.
