Penguins, Sneak-Writing, Soundtracks, and Starship Captains

MrD is still in the middle of his two-and-a-half-week school break right now, so it's mostly family time over here, with bits of sneak-writing slotted in wherever/whenever I can manage them. There were a few female captains and admirals (i.e., former captains) in Star Trek Next Generation. Rachel Garrett was one I think.

We used to watch Voyager reruns when the kids were young--the kids used to call Janeway "Captain Captain Janeway"--I'm not sure how that name originated, but it was in some mishearing :-)

We JUST started watching the original Trek series with MrD, and while the stories are still really fun, the sexism is SO intense, we definitely need to get him started on Voyager for contrast as soon as he's old enough to follow the storylines!
