Christmas bliss, badger bandits, good news and good books

It was a lovely, lovely Christmas here in Wales. Even Baby X got excited, really trying to open his Christmas gifts himself. (He's enthusiastic and adept at the "grabbing" part, if not the actual unwrapping afterwards...) I was given one book this Xmas, Bill Bryson's "One Summer". The rest was a hamper and a CD box set of Miles Davis Quintet recordings.

I wish I hadn't thrown away my letters from Ursula Nordstrom, when I sent novels to her as a teenager. I had three, and though they were short (and one of them asked for my next) they weren't really substantive. Still.
