Cheering up on a Monday

I am such a Christmas tree addict. Now that the lights and the ornaments have been hung on our gorgeously big, fat tree, I would spend my entire life in our living room if I could, with those bright, colorful lights shining 24 hours a day. My feet dragged pathetically as I left the room for the last time last night, blowing imaginary kisses to the ( Read more... )

I just read your vampire TA story--I laughed and laughed! It was wonderful! You have to understand that my husband took more than a decade (almost two) to finish a PhD, and no teaches at an institution very much like Michigan State--so every little detail just had me giggling. If you ever do a book tour in western Massachusetts, I'll take you to the coffee shop where Ed Staggs would have been sitting, if the story had been set here.

As you can see, I'm behind on my reading of the stories (and am not reading them all in order) but I'm really, really enjoying them. Thanks again!

Oh, wow. Thank you so much! I come from a family of academics and spent faaaar too much time in grad school myself, which made this story so much fun to write. I'm so glad it worked for you! And if I ever get to western Massachusetts, I will absolutely take you up on that offer. :)

I sent it to my husband. He was off to office hours (he has a sign-up sheet on his door) :D

I want to see a picture of the tree when you get your camera sorted, please!

(and thanks for your lovely, understanding e-mail--I did my algebra chapter FINALLY so I'm feeling much better & will write soon).

But I don't see why Mr. D shouldn't see the kisses even if you have to hide them from Patrick...call me subversive, but after all, someone has to carry on the tree-lovin' tradition :-)

*HUGS*

You're a great friend!

Hee. Patrick wants me to inform the world that I am not actually required to hide the kisses from him, either. (I think this means he just accepts I'm cracked and loves me anyway.)

Hooray for getting through the chapter! *HUGS* And it takes one to know one. :)

I love my tree too! I need to get a pic of it for my blog. Last night I wrote out some Christmas postcards with a cup of tea and some lit candles and the glorious tree, and it was so happy-making.

I'm also really enjoying December Lights. Your story was so much fun! Thank you!

Ooh, that sounds like a perfect evening!

And I'm so glad you're enjoying the project - and SO glad you liked my story! Thanks so much for telling me.

(I kept the kisses imaginary and the promises silent because (a) I would like Patrick not to think I have completely gone over the edge, and (b) I am trying to set a good example to our child. I'm pretty sure they both knew how I felt anyway.)

Completely gone. Sorry, way too late to save that.

Oops. Oh, well, it's more fun on this side of the edge anyway... ;p
