Good week, great surprises

This has been a week full of frivolity and writing, just the way I like it. ;) On Tuesday, Mr Darcy and I hopped the bus into town to meet up with friends (3 adult women for me, 3 babies for him) at the café in the Leeds City Art Gallery & Central Library. My dear Miss Burgis' Brain,

It has come to my Attention that there may be a novelette Forthcoming in which Dragons and Young Ladies of Proper Society may mingle. I have been looking to read something of This Nature for Some Time.

Please to be writing that quickly.

Yours, etc.
M.H.'s B.

OMG I love that first line. I wonder if that was how the book was actually supposed to begin...? Newsflash: 'Manuscript discovered in trunk: the real first draft of Pride and Prejudice'.

I am jealous of your stroller, even though I don't use one anymore. I saw one the other day and it looked like it had been designed by a mother who still had some brainpower left--and I coveted it.

Thank you! And hee - I love your idea...especially because when I was a kid, I always thought the only thing that could have made Jane Austen's (and Charlotte Bronte's, and Georgette Heyer's) novels even better was if they'd included magic! ;)

I love my new stroller! It makes such a difference to have something really light and steerable w/ just one hand!

You are number 1 on my list of people I want to write long emails to -- I hope you know that I'm thinking about you all the time even if I haven't written that email yet!

And no worries - I'm thinking of you & missing you too, but I understand how crazy busy you are right now!
