Basically, you have been staring at black for too long because you refuse to look above at the sunrise. You choose your path. You have to believe it to want it; you have to want it to believe it. Seeing is not believing, and wanting is not having. Basing your judgements on what you think should be - you will end up more miserable then you wish.
