Well, this was just the nicest surprise in the whole world! Seriously, forget my birthday being three and a half weeks ago -- this was wonderful to wake up to!

I love it. Really. You have managed to do in, what was it, 1300 words, what I always seem to need at least 8000 for -- establish the relationship between these two canonical non-entities. And it was clear and concise and . . . there are times when I seriously envy that ability. And I love their banter, and the way she has to focus so entirely on what she's saying, and his casual nervousness, and the way that their banter is so well established that it pervades even what becomes awkward and uncertain, especially with "'Two. The first one doesn't count. Using Silencio is cheating.'
'Effective though.'"

That made me laugh out loud. So the whole thing is fabulous, and I could gush so much more, but instead I'll settle for hugging you virtually and grinning the rest of the day at such a wonderful surprise!!!
