You know I really want to feel sorry for Steve. I really really do, but I just cant get passed the fact that he's being kinda selfish here in regards to Danny. And I mean its Danny...Danny. How the hell can you hurt Danny

Coping mechanisms are powerful things. And when you develop them before you even know what you're doing, you don't even recognize they've kicked in most of the time. Steve is convinced Catherine needs him and he needs to be noble and forego what he wants for her sake. His body is trying really hard to give him the message that no, he needs Danny, but these coping mechanisms run really deep.

Danny's still trying to figure out how to deal with this without breaking Steve entirely. But I think he'll have to get drastic soon. Otherwise Steve will end up married with kids.

Excuse my language, but HOLy SHIT! That was an awesome fic, but these boys are breaking my heart (as well as each others). Really hope this gets fixed soon in cannon and in fic. This is awesome writing by the way.

Hee! Language is fine by me! :) I'm so glad that this worked. They're definitely breaking hearts all over the place, and they're going to get even more broken before it all gets fixed, I suspect...but that's what makes compelling drama, right? :)

I definitely agree that was a hard one to work into, but you did so very well :-) I do think you are still hewing well to canon, but the suspense is killing me- I think you're right, Danny's going to get drastic soon, and whether or not Steve is leaving Cath behind won't matter much then, lololol. Good job :-)

Thank you kindly! :) Hopefully I can stick to canon a while longer. I have a vague notion of how it's going to play out based on hints we've gotten about the rest of the season, but with no idea exactly what or when things might happen, it's tough.

Either way, Danny is going to get drastic soon. He doesn't have Cath's careful patience when it comes to Steve. Or possibly he's just seen how much good that hasn't done her.

First of all, it amazes me you can snap these off immediately after the ep, so well written and clean and perfect.

Second, another fantastic little piece. I'm completely caught up in where you are taking us, what you are doing with these two and it's so real and tangible. I'm right there with them, right there in both their pain and confusion.
