The interacted a lot with the audience, and at one point they pulled (literally pulled, or had them pulled) three people out of the crowd to replace them at their instruments. Especially the drummer couldn't believe his luck and was apparently unable to close his mouth.
According to my co-worker they did the same thing at Nova Rock. They even gave the guitar to the lucky guy afterwards and the lead singer (I don't know their names) kissed him on the mouth *g*.
I was reading my entry from last year's Rock am Ring again and noticed I hadn't ever answered your comment! I cannot leave it at that!
Billy Joe (that's the lead singer's name) gave his guitar away at the end of the guest performance too. But no kissing on the mouth, sadly, as far as I remember.

Ah, that's too bad. I think he did that on a live TV show as well... the kissing part ;-).
