Also, I got The Sims 2 from ebay, and I'm downloading new outfits and hairdoes by the dozen. Unfortunately, my slow internet connection is working against me.

Make sure what you are downloading is base game compatible and doesn't require any expansion/stuff packs. Also that you have any required meshes. :-D Have fun!

I am! I made that mistake with the original Sims(1) game (because I simply didn't know about that stuff before), and I ended up with a whole load of not-working skins or having to painstakingly search for the one object that always crashed my game. I'm a lot more careful now.

And thank you for the link to modthesims (although it's .info, not .com ;) ), I'm slowly making my way through that site.

Fortunately, things have changed enough with Sims2 that if you download something and you don't have the mesh, you just get a blue "ghost" in your objects bin. And if you don't have the EP, I think it just doesn't show. Very rarely do objects actually crash a game anymore. :-D

And ARGH - I do that with their link every damn time. LOL

I have so much fun creating sims and building them houses, and then usually I lose interest when it actually comes to playing with them. ;) But we'll see how this one works out.
