As some of you might know, I'm writing my diploma thesis on LiveJournal, specifically the (not really existent) user guide. To be able to do that properly, I need to analyze who the actual users of LiveJournal are. I know there are the official statistics, but they’re not really extensive and probably not always correct (think of the age, which ( Read more... )

I have a permanent account, which isn't one of your choices. Also, I forget the name of my viewing style, but a while ago you had to choose to keep it because they were no longer offering it as a style. It has a big pencil in the upper left-hand corner.

I've had my LJ for over five years, but I lurked on specific LJs for two years before that, so I answered that I've used it for over six years, because I really have.

I think my viewing style is Dystopia.

Yeah, I forgot the permanent one, sorry. I liked that old style much better, too, but I thought I'd probably have to write about the new one since that's the one for new users, so I switched. And now I'll never get the old one back. :(

I lurked for quite a while, too, before I got one myself. Ah, fun times. :)

You actually CAN use the old styles, they will show up if you add "?view=schemes" to the settings URL, like this.

As the person above me says, I'm using the old style (the second I think LJ offered) which is not actually a general an option anymore, so I didn't give an answer to 11.

Yeah, I forgot about that one. :) Even though I was very fond of it, too.

lol easily done, especially considering they've taken it off the general options! *G*

Which is too bad, because I can never switch back now! :(

Okay, looks like I've got atypical answers to some of the questions, so just use them as you will. :)

I am currently in the UK for studies, but permanent residence is in Singapore, I have a permanent account, and I use Dystopia as my viewing style.

Will do that. :) Permanent and Dystopia aren't actually atypical or uncommon, I just forgot them.

Okay, I so suck. I just realised that I'm using XColibur as my viewing option, NOT Dystopia. *headdesk*

Happens to the best of us, I thought I'd been using Dystopia (before Horizon which I have now), too. :)

Re #10: I clicked "paid," but I've got a permanent account.

Re #11: I usually have Horizon, just not at the moment *cries*.

I think "paid" comes closest to permanent anyway, are there even any differences (except for the obvious no paying anymore ever)?

I usually have Horizon

Yeah, I read about that (but have no clue for a solution, so I didn't answer). :(

Permanent account holders always have the maximum amount of icons that's the only difference (and obviously a very important one *g*) that I recall at the moment.

I sill don't have a solution, I don't really know what to do anymore. Oh well, there are worse things, but it's kind of annoying.

Maybe deinstalling and reinstalling Firefox might help? As a last straw?
