I've been only sparsely online since last Saturday. First I was at home, since it was the last time my sister came home before her exams, and then I'll have exams, and we won't see each other much. Or maybe not even at all until August. I have a week of vacation at the moment, but I came back here since nobody of my family's at home anyway, my ( Read more... )

I thought about getting a permanent account as well but don't think I will after all this now.

Glad you had a good time in Nuremberg and I hope that the salad will recover, too! *hugs you*

I was undecided if I should get a permanent account or not. I mean it'd pay off in five years, but who knows what will be in five years. If things like that happen a few more times, fandoms might move on. On the other hand, there's always been drama on lj, and fandom's always recovered. :)

Well, right now I can't imagine not using LJ but you never know, right? We will see how I feel about it when they actually start selling permanent accounts again.

And yes, fandom has the habit to jump right back, never mind how big the wank gets. *g*

I didn't know dirndls were called, well, dirndls. You learn something new every day!

I kind of want a permanent account, but so many things could happen in RL, LJ and fandom in five years that I probably won't buy one.

You're right, the latest LJ kerfuffle seems like such an American thing to do.

Well, I guess they might be called something else elsewhere -- and I also think there probably is similar traditional clothing having different names -- but in Germany (and especially Bavaria) they're dirndl(s). I think the plural is actually dirndl as well... :)

Yeah, exactly. This whole incident just reminded me of that.

And there's always innocents getting caught in the crossfire.
