First-time commenter! First off, I have to say, thanks for writing such great reviews! I just got into CSI: NY recently, and I'm a bit unsettled by how divided the fandom can be, but I find your reviews to be not only interesting but very respectful to the show in its entirety. Please keep up the good work! :)
Anyway. It is painful to watch the strain that's going on between Stella and Mac, but I have to say, it's about damn time Stella got an arc of her own again. The last decent one was the whole HIV scare in S3, while the whole Drew thing was just a Mac-arc in disguise
( ... )
What comes next is going to be very very interesting, but also very very bad. From the get-go in the grocery store, I had a bad feeling but I didn't really expect psycho-stalker! @_@ And she's like 20 or something? Eeek!
Argh our two beloved strong characters always so determined to do everything themselves and push away help or the team-player scenario again and again. You are so right about Mac going to that girl's place alone or confronting her alone, but I think with the confrontation, maybe he was embarrassed to have vouched for her and then the whole thing turn out to fake.
Spent whole time going OMG YOU IDIOT to either Mac or Stella, mostly Mac. And at one point, going GET AWAY FROM THE CREEPY STALKER LADY. Fail, Mac. Your sense of duty and need to protect and whatever else is not helping in this instance AT ALL. Knew from the start in the store thingy that she was bad news.
Not to mention your partner is off on a hell bent mission, doing shady deals, to get revenge on the bad guy that threatened her. Use that protective instincts to clean house, bb. You've got a mess on your hands.
Danny/Lindsey/Spawn child is not as traumatizing as I expected it to be so far. o_O
Adam is the most made of win boy EVER. <3 And Hawkes dissecting the machine because he thinks it's broken. LOL (O yes, I will fix broken lab equipments for fun. SRSLY Hawkes. That's genius. (That and I'm always like WHY is Hill Harper on my tv screen? He's bright, he has a Harvard Law degree. He could be doing something GOOD for the world, better than making my tv screen shiny
( ... )
I agree. I suppose I'm not really all that shocked at Stella because she is, in fact, Stella. Kind of a loose cannon sometimes. Mac's going to be extremely unhappy when he finds out what's going on.
As for Mac, his social skills suck. Period. I agree that Ella is manipulating him, but I do think that she's genuinely in crisis. However, I also think that she's having boundry issues because she's in crisis and that's the root of the whole situation. I'm kinda excited for this storyline. It should be very interesting.
Adam's thing with his bully of a dad makes me want to hug him.
