happier things

I've been in New York since last Wednesday, and now, on Christmas Eve, there's nothing left to do. Well, there's Christmas dinner tomorrow, but that's my mother's detail, not mine. The presents have all been bought and wrapped and are sitting under the tree, which is lit, and I am sitting here writing this and half-watching Bones with my mother ( Read more... )

Happy Christmas, lovely! I hope you and yours have a fabulous holiday. *snugs you*

Sounds like you're having a good time. Being with family is always good. Even if you do have that one crazy aunt. :)

Happy (belated) Christmas to you too! I hope you had a fabulous holiday as well. *snugs*

The vacation was good, and it was great to spend some time with the family. Even crazy aunt was suspiciously well-behaved on Christmas Day, which is all we can hope for.

Happy Christmas, little one. :-) Good luck surviving the aunt and keep resting.

Hopefully you liked my random message.... Last check the snow is at 16" and the news now says we're in for another hit tomorrow. (Some are saying 2-4", and this morning we were supposed to get 3" and got 8+" so far today. FORCAST FAIL.)

Even Mom, who has been impressively zen until now, has reached her breaking point. She's most upset that even the cybershopping she had to 'resort' to hasn't come because the postmen aren't so good about coming in this weather.

I've played a few games on the computer, and we went walking today (this shit is harder to walk in than WATER at the tidepools when it's this high) but I'm still strung out and jumpy. 2 weeks of lockdown does it to you, I guess.

We found a whole chicken in the freezer, so at least we have something decent for dinner tomorrow. Tired of the same old, same old. Far from starving, but oh what I'd give for a spring roll or vietnamese sandwich. Oh, my kingdom for a trip for the grocery store. :-/

Merry (belated) Christmas to you too!

I hope you find someone fabulous as well. I honestly didn't think this would happen for me, and I think I'm still pretty blown away by all of it.

It was fabulous I have to say, since I caved to my girly side and asked for makeup and a ceramic hair straightener, finally! LOL It was perhaps a little too fabulous last night, oh my aching everything! Happy New Year, sweetheart! :D *hugs*

I have also experienced the trauma of my first snowstorm in years, and have proven to myself beyond all doubt that I am no longer built for this kind of weather.

You've been spoiled by wonderful, sunny weather, eh? Well, some snow is good for you. Keeps you on your toes (literally). ;)

I hope you have a very merry Christmas and get your own Mac and Stella all sorts of goodies.

I am thoroughly spoiled by warm weather. :-) And I have thin blood now. This, more than anything else, reinforces how much I am no longer equipped to live in the Northeast -- or anywhere else that gets a lot of snow.

A very merry (belated) Christmas to you as well!
