A lengthy collection of half-formed thoughts, more than tidbits, less than entries.

I have started and not finished at least four entries in the past couple of weeks. One was about traditions, prompted by a general feeling that mine (which I didn't even know I had) were pretty badly violated when I spent Thanksgiving in Wisconsin with etler's family. Not that the day wasn't nice... I knit an entire armwarmer, I enjoyed a lovely fire ( Read more... )

"Right now, I'm really enjoying living it. Really Really enjoying it. Especially all of the crazy random stuff that goes on during Blowout."

Good! You should be!
I'm glad you're enjoying it.
Do you have trouble explaining how really great it is to your friends? I've been struggling for years. "It's really great. I've never laughed so happily and hard in my life, yet it's so hard to explain..."

I believe most/all of Cancan would agree with you regarding the loss-of-prudishness when tarting up. Barbara, for instance, is about the most prudish* person I know in real life. I'm always amazed she's in Cancan, and I love her for it.

I've seen a few people from real-life-work this year, which has generally been really weird. It pulls me right back to "oh dear, WHAT am I doing right now??".
Of course I promptly ignore that thought, but the thought itself is usually pretty jolting.

*only a compliment - I'm a big prude too!

Explaining... yeah, I got nothing. The closest I get is "Well, I got bitten by the theatre bug when I was a very small person... and it just sort of gets in your blood and stays there." Except that that really doesn't cover it.

I keep trying. I keep failing. I give up. ;-)

I can relate to the holiday tradition difficulties. While my dad was sick/dying/just passed, going to pmb7777's house for Christmas was very difficult. It still is, sometimes, especially because my mom doesn't travel well now either, so it's all Biermans, all the time for holidays for me. I love my inlaws but it's not *my* family. It's impossible to explain to someone who hasn't been there and it's so hard not to accidentally hurt feelings.

Anyway, just a blathery "me too" about that. :)

See am I going to actually *see* you at Dickens? :P We keep overlapping in all these circles, but never run into each other!

Hmmm... maybe if you lure me out of Sal's (
I dance at 1:30, 4:00 and 6:00 in the Music Hall Show) for a bit. :-)

Where would I find you at Dickens?
