I'm liking these good days. People to talk to. Productive work that actually accomplishes something useful. Lots of arts people very, very happy indeed to have me back on the job. That last is enough to turn a gal's head ( Read more... )

My beloved stonetimber has not smoked in about six weeks. Nothing. No cigarettes, cigars, pipes, nothing.

Very few feelings beat the feeling of doing the kind of work that is best suited to you and being appreciated for doing it.

My parents had a cat (my childhood cat) who started needing glucosamine and aspirin at 16 and lived to be 21. Their vet said not to put her down unless she seemed unhappy. He said that animals will retreat when they are ready to go. We're at the other end of this. I'm going to do a happy dance when Jack, who is five months old and stubborn, manages to go a week without peeing indoors.

Congrats to Patrick!! Does he feel any different yet? I've heard that some people start noticing that their food tastes better after just a few days without tobacco dulling their sense of taste. When I stopped smoking, I had a ton more energy after just a week.
