This week sucks

Minor irritations abound. They're giving me another responsibility at work. PILE IT ON! >_< At least my boss recognizes that I'm being screwed and put in for a raise for me. It helps, a little. One person at work seriously messes me up on a daily basis, but I'm tired of dealing with that crap. And notes! NOTES! NOTES! Everyone leaves me notes, no ( Read more... )

That sucks that they (1) didn't like your ad and (2) were unable/unwilling to help you with a new one. You should definitely sock it to 'em and give them the worst ad EVER. Make it bland. Make it boring. :)

As for the stray cats, try calling your local humane society. Most of them have live-traps available. You could catch the cats and bring them in - that way they wouldn't starve, and someone might adopt them (if they're not too feral).

I get that same nonsense from customers who ho-hum giving me details for a design they want, but then burst a blood vessel when I can't successfully read their mind.

GIGO - Garbage in, garbage out.

I've since added a clause to my contracts that the user is responsible for reasonably conveying what they want in a design, and I take no responsibility for elements I am forced to improvise. I also state I can charge extra for re-designs due to negligence on their behalf. It's kinda moot, since I take so few independent contracts anymore, but it's panned out at least twice.

I gladly accept making less income, in favor of not stressing myself to death. My poor frazzled nerves can't handle any more passive-aggressive clients who couldn't make a ghost costume if I gave them a sheet and scissors, but somehow think they know more about functional web designs than me.

Heh. That's about as bad as the time I had to make a poster for an event, and the planners didn't give me all of the information about it. So, they were asking me why I hadn't included the times on the poster . . . maybe it was because they hadn't told me the times? Just a thought.
