Easy - don't throw stuff away. Write a load of bollocks then take the best bits and make them into something.

If you have a Mac I can email you the app for free! I haven't used it in a long time, but it's fantastic for breaking out of that fear. I wrote my entiiiiiiire BB in...2011 or something in like, a day, on Write or Die. (IT WAS SHIT but there were words!!!)
