My lockdown regime, generally speaking, will involve a daily trip to Tesco - via the hilliest route in this hilly city, so as to get my cardiovascular system going, i.e. a footpath over the railway cuttings of St Werburghs. Wow -- that's scary, the arson spree.

Here if you pay by credit card you still have to punch buttons and sign screens, at a lot of places.

Here, a lot of places now look askance if you try to pay in a way that involves physical contact. When I bought Jessie's medicine at the vet (which cost more than the limit for contactless payments) the assistant brought the medicine outside to where I was waiting, then went back in and rang me so that I could pay by credit card over the phone.

The one downside of limiting my shopping trips to one per week is that it comes to well over the £30 limit. However, I then go straight home and wash my hands, so I think I'll be OK.

I admire the ingenuity of the vet practice though.

Someone here set fire to the heath. But that - or in extreme cases setting fire to the school - is kind of a traditional end of term ritual in Dorset...
