Forgive my ignorance, but didn't we settle the "states' rights" issue in the Civil War?

I would like to answer that. The civil war was about states rights but primarily the Southern States felt it was within their states rights to keep slaves. This is where they where flawed. The kidnap of foreign people and forcing them into slave labor is a violation of the core of what our country was founded on. So basically the political parties of the south in 1860 where using states right to hide behind to justify slavery ( ... )

It *will be* there.....nope my love you are not an idiot....it just isn't up yet.

From what I am hearing the lines fell on Democrats voting Yes (which in this case opposed) and all others voting against.
