Poll apple + shift + qI am a mac user. I am fanatical about macs. I have two, a desktop and a laptop. (They have names too. Lyra & Iorek. the green ipod is Pan.) But my first PC was an IBM 80/86 that my dad bought because he worked for IBM. I've had four IBM PCS, (including two thinkpads) and I would never go back. (And my dad now has three macs. Oh, the insidious insertion of Philip Pullman. I will admit that I haven't read the first two in a while, but remember liking them, and The Amber Spyglass is LOVE.

I keep hoping he will write another book. He has said in interviews it is something he has considered. And he has done that with Trilogies before (Sally Lockhart.)

That, I have to say, would be fabulous. Although I'd worry; it seems as though it'd be pretty hard to top the third, and I'm not sure that trying to would be good for him. Or for anyone, really.

Here's the crazy thing. I prefer apples, but I own a PC. It all fell down to the keyboard when I was buying. Purchasing a laptop as your primary machine, the keyboard becomes very important. At the time, the keyboard on every apple laptop was entirely too small, so I ended up with a Toshiba, because it was the perfect size. Then, my next laptop was a gift, so another pc. I'll probably be buying a new laptop soon and I'm hoping to go back to apple.

Well, we are pretty lucky to have our own computers, and I know this poll is sort of silly. But my love for Macs knows no bounds. :)

I hope you can go back to Mac soonish.
