Music For Airports is personally my favourite ambient album from Brian Eno. It's got such a subtle background, such a peaceful piece of music for when I'm just chilling out at home, doing nothing in particular.

I first discovered Brian Eno at the cinema, when I heard the 'An Ending (Ascent)' track being played on the final credits of the film Traffic. The scene just showed some semi-Pro (or LL?) baseball game being played at night, and it'd be interceded with loud applauses from the audience when the batsman would strike a good hit. The song captivated me enough to hang until the credits had stopped rolling, then I dug up the soundtrack so I could find out who did the piece.

I'd like to hear some of his non-ambient stuff, I don't believe I've heard any of it.

(Oh, it's trash80, btw. Same guy, different alias. :) )

Hey -- welcome back! The album you need to get hold of his Another Green World. Commonly thought of as his best, plus, it's a direct connection from his song-oriented work to the ambient stuff.
