Therapy Requests

Mar 22, 2009 16:41

As the number of therapies required for staff AC as well as the number of weekly therapies have been lowered, here is a chance for both staff and patients to make plans for therapies outside of the weekly announced ones.

The concept is simple: You play a patient whom you would really like to expose to a certain kind of therapy? You have an idea for a therapy that just came up and would be so interesting to play out with him that you don't want to wait until they come up in the weekly announcements? You have a plot, or are planning one, but need something specific to happen to your character for it to work? You are simply interested in the development therapy could bring? Or you play a staff member and have that great idea for a therapy, but no idea for a victim yet?

If any of this is the case, then fill out the respective form and post it here:

Now, remember: Don't be intimidated by the length of this. You don't need to give us essays here. A sentence or two per point, even just a few words, just a rough general overview, that is enough. These points are absolutely required to know, but that doesn't mean that you have to elaborate at length about them. :D

Explanation

Patient
Name: Your character's name, preferably with journalname, too.
Age: Please tell us their age. This is purely in case it may be relevant for the therapy, but also for staff players to see if the patient is too young for their comfort level, since not everybody is fine with doing awful things to children, even in RP.
Sex: This may not matter at all, but may be interesting to know for the staff, in case they require only characters of a certain gender for a specific type of therapy.
Diagnosis: What is your character diagnosed with? Go with the dossier, please.
Treatments & Side-Effects: Again, copied from the dossier, please. This may serve as inspiration as well as give ideas of how a specific kind of therapy may affect them.
Abnormalities/Special Traits: Does your character have any physical abnormalities, such as disability, superhuman powers, or even anything mental or magical? Even if that only applies in canon, and therefore is treated as imagination here, please state them, so that the staff players can see why their character might take an interest in the patient.

Staff
Name: Again, your character's name and journal.
Style: Tell us a little bit about how your staff member acts overall, what his style of patient treatment, his behaviour towards patients, and his preferences and strategies are.
Powers: If your character has supernatural powers or special talents, be sure to mention them here. Patients might get interested in those.

Therapy Preferences
Time-frame: Tell us here how soon you would like or need the therapy to happen. Maybe it's a plan that can wait a few weeks, but maybe you need something in a current plot, or just - because it is relevant right now, with the present character dynamics - as soon as possible.
Type: This can be anything really. Would you like a surgery, electroshocks, medication experiments, or anything else? Here, you can give us a description of what you had in mind to happen during the therapy.
Preferred Outcome: What would you like as a result of this therapy? You can tell us about physical damage as well as emotional damage, or just the outcome of talks with the staff member who takes the therapy. Anything that you want to or need to have as outcome in the end.
Degree of Damage: This is very important. Let the staff players know what kind of emotional and physical damage you would enjoy to see, and what is not okay for you. If you are uncomfortable with something or think it would make the character unplayable, you need to tell us here, so we can prevent misunderstandings.
Purpose: Why, exactly, do you want this therapy to happen? What were you planning to do with it later? How is it connected to your plots? Give us a reason, as detailed as you like, why you are requesting it.
Staff/Patient Preferences: This does not mean names, but which qualities the staff member should ideally have, and why. Maybe you need somebody highly physical, who will snap easily and beat the ever-loving shit out of your character, maybe you need somebody to torture more subtly, maybe you just need a good mindfuck, or simply somebody calm, fakely nice, or even outright hostile. Of course, you can also mention which kind of powers would be helpful.
Other: And here, you can add anything that you consider relevant, that didn't fit into any of the above categories. :D

Important: RULES

  • First of all, make sure you have an idea what you want to happen and why. Think it through, be honest with the information you give here, especially on the time-frame and the content of what you want and what you don't want.
  • Everybody, please check this post regularly, staff players especially. Help each other out, try to combine your own ideas, when you have them, with somebody who already made a request. This is not obligatory, but might help keep things organised.
  • You can comment on a request made here, if you are interested. You can also have the discussion here, if you feel that you just can't catch each other on IM.
  • ABOVE ALL: Don't forget to tell us that your request has been taken, by commenting on it.
