For a long while, there was no response, but he had heard the words, the doctor's intentions, and it made his stomach ache a little more. "I have a file," he stated, more to himself than to anyone else, turning and going back to the chair a moment later. It wasn't that he was obedient, but more scared of possible recourse at this moment. This place was still strange, still unknown.
Was the boy an idiot? More than the normal level of idiocy he encountered, anyway. Uneducated, brainless, an all-out useless piece of ... well, he'd find out if the boy was useless shortly. If the 'weapon' listed in the dossier wasn't just a delusion and was, as he expected it to be, real, then there was quite a lot of use he could drag from this boy's body.
Mayuri didn't bother confirming or denying the boy's statement. He just took hold of the nearest wrist again and, when the child didn't yank himself away a second time, pushed up the long sleeve again. The veins were faint under the skin, but he found one soon enough and pressed the needle to it. He had to push harder than expected to break the skin. Hmph, so the boy at least had that much to protect himsel --
The blood that flowed into the syringe was thick and black.
His interest in the subject suddenly multiplied.
"How interesting," he mused once the syringe was full, holding it up to the light. "And this is ... your weapon? Tell me how you use it." It didn't shine or

There was a sharp whine as the needle penetrated his skin, because that wasn't supposed to happen. His gaze immediately shot towards the doctor, yanking his arm away with a pout. "Mou. I didn't say you could do that," he whined out, scooting away several steps, moving towards a corner to press himself into it, ducking down to trace patterns in the dust that had gathered there.
"His name is Ragnarok," he murmured softly, his voice petulant and young. "He protects me. But since I got here, he can't come out." Crona frowned, poking at the floor again. "And he would like for you to give that back. Put it back where you got it. Would you like to have bits of you pulled off?" He shot a look back towards the doctor, his eyes narrowed angrily.
Mayuri didn't bother to come up with any lie for why he took the blood; there was no point. He just followed the boy to the corner and watched him trace patterns in the dust, his own head tilting much too far to the side. Now that his interest was genuinely piqued, he had a focus and reason. He was willing to treat the boy with a bit more careful study than before.
"The power suppression is unfortunate. I would be interested in seeing him and how you use him." But he'd have to make sure to have Paul around - or some security brute, in any case - to make sure the boy and the weapon didn't lash out at him and kill him. Apparently this Ragnarok was a very viable presence in the boy's mind. "I'm afraid I can't put it back. It could very well be the source of your stomach troubles. Give me your arm - I'll need a second sample."
Now to see if the boy would lash out with those violent tendencies. Mayuri may have disliked doing battle unless it was absolutely necessary, but he was a Captain for a reason.
