Not far from where Keigo was wandering through the halls, Graham had finally had enough of wasting time in his room with his angry, offensive, demanding roommate. After a while of simply sitting in the corner (he'd not given up arguing over the bed, but at the moment, he wasn't anywhere near tired, and sleeping when you weren't tired was both difficult and pointless, and besides, it was a massive waste of time, and there just wasn't enough time around for people to simply waste it!) he jumped to his feet and barreled out the door. If Shira had anything to say about it, he could say it when Graham got back. He slept too much, anyway; if he woke up, it was for his own good.

So Graham, too, wandered the halls. Eventually he made his way down one long hallway and into another, and he paused at one point to try and recall where he was. He knew New York City, he knew Chicago. But did he know Switzerland? No. He didn't. Because he'd never been to Switzerland until arriving here. It was silly to think he would know it. But did he know this ( ... )

Keigo was a bit lost in his own head for the duration of his current wanderings--things like, "Am I really in Switzerland?" and "Is it really the 1800s?" and "Is there even an exit to this place?"--but, even so, he seemed to be picking up on movements here and there down the halls around him. Small sounds. Footsteps, doors opening and closing. His eyes panned around quickly as he walked, the thoughts buzzing around his head soon taking a backseat to his own observations.

In fact, he could almost feel someone--or something--approaching, to which, he stopped in his tracks. His eyes flicked around, listening as the footsteps increased in pace, and finally, a figure came into view.

Headed straight for him.

"Ghh--!!" Keigo's throat worked and, within a moment of the strangled noise he had made, he let loose a rather unmanly screech. "GYAAHis arms shot up in a defensive stance, expecting to be hit or struck, but instead, he was treated to an assault on his ears, rather than his face ( ... )

It was a pretty common reaction for people to flinch away from Graham when he came out of nowhere - even for his own men to do so! Can you even believe that! - so he wasn't hurt or offended or slighted in the least when the other boy did that, arms coming up to defend his face instinctively. That just meant he had good reaction time and a fighting spirit! Or at least a defensive spirit. They were the same thing. Defense was almost as important as attack, after all, and in the end, wasn't winning the goal? You couldn't win without defense! Unless you were really, really good at attacking. Like he was ( ... )

Keigo was a little ... concerned by Graham's change in expression, not entirely certain as to what it meant for him. Why would he be looking at him like that? Did he not shake his hand correctly? It wasn't something Keigo was used to doing, really--he could probably count the times he had actually shaken someone's hand on.. well, one hand--and he wasn't really seeking to offend anyone, at least not then.

The other man seemed to have the same ability that Keigo possessed: the ability to prattle on and on, at a mile a minute. It .. was a bit hard to be on the receiving end of such a thing for once, and Keigo briefly wondered if everyone he talked to had such a problem listening to his words ( ... )

Keigo ... Keigo, Keigo ... ah! Asano! Graham's grin grew wider with the announcement of the name, and he quickly let go of Keigo's hand as the other boy rambled out an apology for his language, his reasons, so on and so forth. Graham politely waited for him to finish - because Graham could be patient and polite, really, when he wanted to be, and meeting with someone who spoke almost as much as he did, or at least in the same way, was really quite an interesting new process; only Ladd had ever done that before - before slapping a hand on Keigo's shoulder and pulling him possibly a little too close for comfort.

"Probably! But that's okay, I'd have the same trouble if I went anywhere else in the world. Your English is fine, and besides, I know people who were born speaking it that speak it worse than you! It's sad, isn't it? When people can't even handle their own language. It's like a bird not knowing how to fly. Truly unfortunate." He paused and glanced down the halls, one foot tapping endlessly on the floor. "So what are you doing ( ... )
