It had been one of the worst days that Anubis had encountered in this place, akin to when he'd thought Naruto had died or when he'd had therapy with Orochimaru and had to stitch himself up with pain-shot nerves just to keep his organs in place. However, this time wasn't the same as those. Anubis had been able to recover from the times before, Naruto had survived and he'd gotten help. Now though, there wasn't going to be any recovery. Link had died, without a doubt, and it was primarily his fault.

Constantine seemed set on reminding him that he was to blame, that Link died because of the god's choices... As if he needed to be reminded, but he wasn't about to just back down over the intercom, especially when everyone was the target of John's bitterness ( ... )
