It took a long time for Allen's words to penetrate her shrouded, muzzy brain. But it was good to hear a familiar voice, and a friendly one, at that, no matter that it seemed to take even longer for her to formulate a reply to him and force the words through her lips.
"Allen... yes... come."
It wasn't the smoothest sentence, nor the most eloquent, but hopefully it got the point across. Rin closed her eyes, lifted a hand and pressed her palm against her forehead, trying to center herself a little, enough that she'd at least be able to converse.

With only a bit of difficulty, he opened the door the rest of the way, slipping inside and closing the door behind him. Turning to face her, he was momentarily stunned by how she looked. Allen knew that she was strong but, right now, she seemed so frail.
Not hesitating any longer, he went to kneel on the floor beside her bed, reaching up to put his hand on Rin's. "I'm here. What happened? I've heard so much but I can't understand it all." He didn't want to make her relive what was so painful for her but he also wanted to keep her talking. Giving her hand a squeeze, he tried to give her a bit of his strength, hoping it would help if only a little.

They'd both been such good friends to her.
Rin swallowed hard, thinking of it, and felt her eyes begin to well. Another swallow, and she held her breath for a long moment; the tears retreated, at least for the moment.
"Someone... these people... these days. So many of them dying." Her voice didn't crack with anguish as it would without the drugs. It was a relief, to have those heady and overwhelming emotions pushed to a bit of a distance. "Momiji... now Matt... heard talking, he broke - he was hurt. Bad, before he died... I don't know if he was thrown down stairs, or if he fell..."

Though he was as confused as ever, he didn't mind, just listening to her. He pieced it together, his eyes narrowing at the idea that there was a murderer going around. Not that it too much to convince him that there was. The young Exorcist already knew that they had questionable doctors in the asylum who wouldn't hesitate to kill.
Idly wishing for his second hand, he instead gave her hand another reassuring squeeze. "I understand now," he murmured. "You've had too many friends leave you. I'm sorry."
Nothing he said could take the pain away, he knew. He knew what it was like to lose those so close to you and to not have someone to help you through it. "I'm so sorry, Rin."
