Just a day like every other. Just a freaking night and day like every other in this goddamn shithole, and no way out, nothing new any day, always the same routine. People whining, people dying, people getting hurt - all the screaming and bitching on the intercom, and after over a month now, Shira had lost patience with this place for good.

The doctors? Out of reach, never showed up, didn't even call him for therapy any more. The women? Everywhere, but nowhere in his reach. The food? Had something that made him notice that uncomfortable, irking itch a lot more than normal, and there was no good way to get rid of it. Screwing didn't help, doing the job himself didn't help. Nothing really helped, and with whining on every side, he had halfway begun to plan the bloody demise of some people, even if he should get offed in the process, himself.

What this shithole needed was something interesting. Entertainment, the quality stuff. Not one dead nurse and everybody crying over who had done it, but something with substance. Something with a ( ... )

Subaru could recognize Shira even before the man spoke. He wondered if there was an inherent sense, between people like them...or if Subaru could merely sense things, even without his abilities. Regardless, he smiled softly when the other man approached him, bowing his head politely like he would to anyone ( ... )

For long moments, Shira stared down at the younger man from his one eye, coldly, blankly. Shira-san? That little shit had to be kidding him. Bowed to him even, talked with that freaking irritating politeness ( ... )

The man was missing an eye. That much Subaru could tell for certain, as he was surveyed with a gaze that morphed and changed like a kaleidoscope. He was good at reading people--a lot better than he used to be, when he was once an ingenuous child who trusted everyone. He could see the malice flicker in Shira's visible eye as it melted back into confusion, and mused briefly that the man could snap him in half if he were so inclined--but Subaru felt no fear ( ... )
