[A new voice emerges; when he speaks, it is clearly to himself. Initially, he sounds shocked.]

This...

What is this?

[There is a stunned silence for a moment or two; when he speaks next, his tone is controlled for the most part, though there is a hint of underlying annoyance.]Hoo. They certainly didn't waste any time. Left unclothed in a cold ( Read more... )

[oh? hell, that voice sounds vaguely, vaguely familiar. but he can't quite put his finger on it. so for now, have his usual dry, cynical tone.]

That is a question nobody here has managed to answer yet - at least not to me. But do share if you find out.

[and, like an afterthought:]

You should be aware that our captors can hear you.

[there is a sharp intake of breath, then, spoken with a purposefully casual tone]

...Our captors, you say?

And how is this also possible, I wonder. My cell is otherwise empty. Your voice should not be so clear.

Our captors. You aren't the only prisoner here. And no, before you ask - none of them has made any real contact yet. With the exception of the guards, that is.

[just as casually. well, now he's not the newbie any more - not that he'd admit thinking that that makes the situation interesting, lmao. the next words are spoken in a way that practically make you hear the hand-wave accompanying them:]

The box on the wall. One of the other prisoners has claimed that it makes you hear the voices of people in other rooms, by mechanical means. It only means you have to be on your guard about what you say - at least for now.

I see. What an interesting prison! [It's probably a good thing that his expression isn't visible right now. His tone can at least be smoothed out.]

What precisely do you know of the situation? If I might enquire.

[You may be a creepy disembodied voice, but that's just rude. He adopts a casual but mildly irritated tone.]

That might eventually seem like the case, with enough mysterious voices emerging from the air.

[He's an evil soulless vampire. He's allowed to be rude.]

You really are sack of hammers. Intercoms, mate.

[Say what.]

Are you so sure that you're not the one who has gone mad?

It was efficiently done. Overwhelm, to make recovery difficult.

...That is a mild way to put it. But young mistress is correct, as well as astute.

So a lack of clothing is routine but not permanent?

[He lightens his tone a fraction, to something more casual.]

What an unusual name. Though with little about this situation familiar, it really shouldn't come as surprise. Well met, Nunnally Lamperouge. I am Guo Jia.

Might I ask what else you have noticed?
