Joss Whedon has written some amazing stuff. That's why I've gone so ga-ga for Buffy The Vampire Slayer, enjoyed Angel (although not to fanboy status), and grew to love Firefly and Serenity (despite my initial loathing for the concept of westerns-in-space

You just might get that wish. Are you familiar with the Season 8 Buffy comic book line? I've seen an issue from what I presume to be a similar line for Angel as well. (Now, it could have been an inter-season timeline, but, if not, well...sounds interesting.)
