Musketeers fic: Something borrowed

Title: Something borrowed

Word count: 1520

Characters: Marguerite/Aramis, Anne/Aramis (implied)

Rating: 15

AN: Aramis. Aramis. Aramis. It’s not that I don’t understand *why* you did it…but did you have to play Marguerite quite so thoroughly? The fact that she’s superficially unlikable and you angst so very prettily doesn’t actually make it better.

WOW, you've made me like Marguerite, and feel sorry for her.

Aramis has certainly been a total bastard using a liaison with her to get closer to the Dauphin. I wonder what the consequence of that is going to be, and how willingly she'll throw her lot in with Rochefort.

Lo Fred! I thought this was definitely one for an audience of me!! So thanks for reading and commenting. I think there will be lot of consequences...I also think that *her* story will ultimately be all about *him*.
(Puts slash hat back on.)

Your audience here is definitely larger than just you! If I didn't have confidence that Aramis will face consequences and presumably character growth as a result of this plot line in series 2, I would be utterly disgusted by it.

This story shines the ugly light of truth on Aramis' actions, and I really enjoyed it (in an ouchie kind of way!).

I admit I like it when the flaws are highlighted - it's much more interesting than perfection. I suspect that Aramis (and others!) will face the consequences of his actions. I also hope Marguerite gets some sort of apology and closure before what I suspect is her inevitable demise!

Poor Marguerite, I did feel a little bit sorry for her during the episode this week. But I'm confident something will come of it during the series and that Aramis will regret playing her. He is a bad and naughty man. But very yummy :D

Rawr! He is all charming and sophisticated and would certainly show a laydee a good time. Alas, he does not brood enough for my personal tastes. *runs off with Athos* Something will come of it as she will go to the bad with Rochefort (sp I may be confusing him with a cheese!) But I don't think it will (ever be)acknowledged quite how devastating it must be to played in that manner. It's unfortunate that Marguerite comes across as so offish compared to the other women. It does make her immediately less sympathetic.

Rochefort is a very tasty cheese. Who would not go to the bad with him? I do not understand the attraction of Athos. Aramis, D'Artagnan and Rochefort. Nom. :D

Rochefort would have kinky(but strangely satisfying) sex. Although you would have to dress up as Queeny and there might be some roleplay involved. How could one not love broody, moody Athos? I'm sure after a few coffees and a bit of toast he's quite amenable. Am also partial to a bit of Porthos. I like my men difficult. (Or, you know, geeky!)

Ooh, this is a brilliant character piece. And exactly what we know has happened. Aramis really did use her shamelessly, and I suspect he will pay the price... Fabulous read.

Thanks. *winks* Another narrow beta escape for you!! I do tend to feel sorry for 'minor' characters who get used and forgotten. Although in this case I agree the fallout will be felt all around.

This is beautiful and very sad. Poor Marguerite. I want to hook her up with a musketeer who actually loves her and doesn't use her like Aramis did. From the 'Next Time' for the next episode I doubt my wish is going to be granted!

Thank you! The 'Next Time' doesn't look hopeful for your wish being granted. The worst thing is, having been hurt once, she's now going to be very needy and constantly looking for reassurance and that's a very difficult trait to love. Not holding out for a happy ending!
