Nice! I can see something like this happening, actually. D'Artagnan jumping in without thinking, and Athos being... complicated! :-)

I liked D'Artagnan's thought about the rest of them, and what he has learned of them over time.

This is wonderful, and wonderfully characterized--D'Artagnan's analyses , and his facepalmworthy approach to life (not that he isn't a bona fide genius compared with his book characterization, but still. And Athos is Athos, and the other two are utterly delightful.

Thanks. The Musketeers is currently making me very happy - not least for the characterisations of the women. It's how an ensemble cast should be. I don't really like stupid - and am old enough to remember the Michael York version. I was very happy that this d'Artagnan is not an idiot.
