The Year In Review

Dec 31, 2009 20:57

I'm postdating this to Dec. 31st 2009 and am planning to keep a record of all the books I've read and film and television I've watched for the year, counting only those that are new to me (so, no repeat viewings). I'm going for a goal of 50 books and 100 movies ( Read more... )

Curious what you thought of The Coma - I gave it one star. :)

I thought it was ok, but quite forgettable and without much of an impact, kind of like a dream you wake up from and forget soon after.

I want to know too what you thought of the Alex Garland book - I loved loved LOVED The Beach but was devastatingly apathetic about The Tesseract.

It was all right but not very substantial. It took no more than three hours to read and though the reading was enjoyable enough, there just wasn't anymore more to it, really.

I too really enjoyed The Beach but found The Tesseract to terribly middling.

I've been watching The Office too. I saw the British version years ago, and after the whole Xbox/Netflix instant viewing thing happened, I started watching the American version since they have it on there. Some episodes are just really frustrating to watch, but I generally really like it. I've laughed out loud a bunch, which is a good sign.

I had already started keeping a list of my 2009 books before I joined Goodreads (another one of my LJ friends was doing it, and I thought it was a good idea), and I think I'm going to keep that up so I don't have to go back through anything. I'm trying to decide if I want to worry about keeping a movie list, but it's not a bad idea. The TV shows get complicated since I am in the middle of some seasons now...
