A butterfly flutters its wings.  A pedicab speeds down the street.  2 strangers meet and collide in a city on an island of 8 million people.  On a Friday night in New York, our situation was sensitive and delicate, dependent on initial conditions - each of us, looking for the whole ( Read more... )

Hi, friend-of-fandomonymous! I love the lyricism of your writing. ('You bring out the writer in me' was also amazing.)

Hi!

And thanks! I dabble quite a bit in poetry, but even more so now because of the Creative Writing class I've been taking this semester. Both "Chaos" and "You Bring Out the Writer in Me" are based on some very real experiences and conversations I've had lately that -- clearly -- have impacted me. I don think those poems would have come across as they did had those experiences not have happened the way they did. It's always great to bring in personal points of view into your writing, and lately, I've been feeling like I'm gradually improving at it, playing around with themes and such.

I hope you don't mind, but Kawa showed me a bit of your stuff too, particularly the one about falling in love with all the places you've lived. I thought those were lovely, the details very vivid and fitting for each location. I loved the approach you took to it, too, as a sort of repetitive mantra.

Looking forward to reading and hearing more from you :)
