I actually do not; I prefer to roam the aisles and pick and choose on what strikes my whim to cook that week, but I know I need a list to remind me of things that are usually non-edible and needed -- I'd forget toilet paper, or what have you, if it wasn't written down.
I usually don't for things in general, but I do for things that are on sale that week (since I have to buy them right then to get the sale price)
Other than that, it's usually a "oh, that looks nice!". I don't cook (I can, but I don't. Long story.), so most of my 'impulses' are convenient "oh, that looks nice for lunch this week."
I've also stopped buying lunch meat. It was becoming problematic.
