We like slash that is not too porny

I wish I knew how to recruit more writers for our publishing press, but the younger internets baffles me in a 'get off my lawn' sort of way.

get off my lawn, nikerymis, #firstworldproblems, will trade sexual favors for magnets, cake or death?

The kids nowadays hang out on the twitter. But IDK how you'd start looking. Unless you start googlebombing. or hashtagging. #needwriters

We have a twitter for LT3, but I do not know what googlebombing is. We only use it for updates (i.e., we've added this! this story has updated! etc!).

I do know we don't want to be aggressive in our marketing, b/c the aggressiveness is kind of polar opposite to what we do. We have a bunch of ads out there on various sites, but they're more to attract readers and customers, not writers.

Maybe rotate looking for writer ads? Take more submissions?

We have open submissions for everything, so we can't get any more open to getting stories.

I'm totally checking AE's web page out now. ^__^ I've never heard of Tales of MU before, but I swear half the time I live under an internet rock. :3

So like...fluffy slash? That sort of thing? (Icon so related.)

Is that Panic!? But yes, fluffy slash. Plot- and character-driven romance stories that feature gay couples prominently. ^__^ Most of the sites out there that sell gay fiction focus on the erotica (porn first, plot second) and that is the opposite of what we're looking for.

Pretty nice to see that for a change. Yeah, I get it, hawt boys having hawt sex is hawt, but the warm fuzzies are nice too.

And yes, that would be Panic! (all two of 'em now). *cookies*

We hear that a lot, which is encouraging! ^__^ I love me some guy-on-guy sex scenes, but I much prefer it when I'm invested in the characters for a reason other than that they both have dicks. :3 Not to say a good PWP doesn't hit the spot sometimes, but I really like stories to go with my porn, not just porn with a hint of a story thrown between the sex scenes.

I was so upset when they split, ngl, but they split along my bandom OTPs, so that made it a little better. :3 I really, really cannot wait until the Panic! album drops in March. ::is impatient and a giant dork::

Do you have a website? I'm a fairly popular weblit author and I'm read by a lot of younger authors who might be interested/fit your bill.

We do! Less Than Three Press. We're pretty much all web, though we should be selling / shipping our own print books in February.

I totally appreciate anything you do for us, ffs. ^__^ My partners and I are pretty established in our own circles of slash-dom, but we're not really sure how to branch out without getting too "in your face" about it. We don't want to crash other people's parties just to throw some advertising out there, y'know? ^__^;;

You might want to check out Circlet Press, who are in a similar line to you all. They started out as a struggling traditional small press, and found more success when they moved to e-books and online. You might be able to mine their site for ideas about things like social media, and you might also ask them if they want to do reciprocal links with you.

That's one press I didn't know about (of which I'm sure there are dozens. :3). But I will check them out. ^__^ At first glance, they definitely do a few things we don't, so I can at least look at what they're doing that we may not be doing and see if it would work for us, too.
