I'm doing the period/culture ID section and it's a vase with the figure of a naked man wrestling a lion while two dudes with shields and armor stand around watching. I know it's Greek, but I have to explain why I know that and all I came up with is that it was made with the black-figure technique the book talks about.

are you sure it's Greek and not Roman? Cuz it could be a Xian being tortured?

Heracles and the Nemean lion. The lion's skin was invulnerable so Heracles strangled it to death.
