It seems like everything in the ship suddenly has a mind of its own.

This is just a conjecture, but if the problem is entirely mechanical...would it be possible to shut off all the power in the ship? If we cut off the source of energy initially routed to the appliances and other devices, perhaps it'll cease to have the capability of movement. That may just be a stopgap measure, but it could give us a moment of respite, as well as a chance to investigate the problem without as many interferences.

Yes, yes I do believe it's possible to shut down all the power in the ship, and I think it is worth attempting for the reasons you have stated.

We should give the crew proper warning first, however, so that they do not panic.

Okay, I am forced to finally admit. I believe we have some kind of supernatural or demonic possession going on. Something has gotten into the ship and is causing everything from the original engine failure to . . . gods only know what else.

Take care of yourself! Whatever it is, it's angry and dangerous. I'm still down in the engine room, which I believe to be the focal point of everything else that's going on. I'll keep you abreast of my progress . . .
