Jul 14, 2011 17:52

So, for Christmas a couple of years ago, I made, for Merrie, a deck of cards with prompts on. She's always complaining that she doesn't know what to draw, so I mustered up 52 random prompts (ranging from You have been eaten by a grue. to more specific image-based things like A tall woman, standing alone in a dark forest ( Read more... )

Ooooh, prompts!

1. The sky suddenly turns an unexpected color.

2. "MERMAIDS," she shouted ...

3. cats and dirigibles

4. peanut brittle

5. When he turned ten he planned to rule the world. Or at least a very small part of Delaware.

6. a stack of books

7. There's an incident in an office building. Type and oddity entirely up to imagination. *g*

8. It always happens when the weather turns cold.

9. Giraffes love orange sundaes.

10. the box

...how are those? *beams; is completely random*

*G* "A stack of boobs" is an acceptable substitution. Hee!

I was quite proud of nine, actually. Great minds.

I met a man called Jasper Snowball.

A stopped clock.

A trail of flowers along the shore line.

Dial-up modems and other noises you don't hear anymore.

No fish, whatsoever.

Where do all the un-dreamed dreams get filed?

Random socks can be paired any x number of ways, where x = the number of original pairs times 2

Is that a dongle I see before me?

Rocks fall, everybody dies.

Dunno about rhinos with teacups, but there's a statue of a horse in a zebra-suit (with French poetry written on the white lines on his back) sitting at a table in Sam's Cafe on Brussels Midi station.

A single point of darkness in the light.

Fresh bread cooling on the counter, with a cat looming nearby.

The Norns - I'm fascinated by them. You can be, too!

That thing you just stepped on.

Sharp crack of color.

A tangle of yarn that leads to....

Oh, oh, the Norns. YES, so much yes to them. The first fanfic I ever wrote has them and in the author's note at the end I made sure to state that the Norns/Fates/Weavers are all considered to be more powerful than any (and all) of the gods. When they decide, that's it. Whatever it is... is DONE.

And the other prompts are also excellent, yes, thank you!
