Some good news

(Finally)

I went to the dentist this morning, early, because I thought I was getting a cavity.

The dentist informed me that not only did I not have a cavity where I thought, my tooth (where the cap fell out last week), probably doesn't need to be pulled yet.

Glad to hear the dental issues weren't nearly as bad as originally thought! It's very nice to hear that.

However, bummer on the inability to bargain with the universe :(

Yay for not needing to have oral surgery! (At least, not yet.)

I noticed Scribe taking out some more frustration at little-details here of late, so here's hoping he has a good day today :P Are his job prospects any better than yours? I know academia is a tough market right now o.O

I don't read little details, but I know how snarky Scribe can get. Yikes.

And yes, he had a very good day today. :)

As for his job prospects, I think he could pretty well land a post-doc. However, that's a temporary position that doesn't pay as much as he's worth. Also, he's looking more toward industry rather than academia.

We'll see, I guess.

Having been on the receiving end of it, I could only cringe :P

Good luck to both of you in your job searches. I've found that rarely can you find a position that pays what you're worth straight out of school - mostly its just about getting your foot in the door.
